• What does a Torus Station cost?

  Qualifying Rocky Mountain Power, Pacific Power, and Portland General Electric customers pay no capital cost — the utility covers it. You pay a monthly subscription for monitoring and maintenance, which is typically less than your bill savings (and that's not including savings from prevented downtime or machine damage). Outside those territories, Torus offers energy as a service, a single monthly payment covering your full system, or direct purchase options.

• Will installation disrupt production?

  Part of the installation process requires a brief scheduled outage, typically around 2 hours, to connect to your facility's line-side bus. This can be planned around production hours or overnight windows. The rest of the installation happens outside the facility with no impact to operations.

• Does Torus work for my industry?

  Torus is deployed today across fabrication, precision manufacturing, food and beverage, aerospace and defense, education, retail, and more. The platform is sized and tuned to each facility's load profile, so whether you run a 500 kW machine shop or a 15 MW processing plant, the same system applies.

• How can a manufacturing facility reduce its demand charges?

  Demand charges are billed on the single highest 15- or 30-minute interval of consumption each month, so one bad spike from a welder, compressor, or motor startup sets the charge for the whole billing cycle. An energy storage system like Torus sets a demand ceiling and discharges automatically when the facility approaches it — flattening spikes without disrupting production.

• How do I protect CNC machines and VFDs from voltage sags?

  Most voltage sags last only a few cycles but are long enough to trip CNC controls, reset PLCs, and fault VFDs. Torus corrects the sag on the incoming feeder in milliseconds — before it reaches sensitive equipment — so machines stay online through disturbances that would otherwise scrap parts.
