How is a Torus Station sized correctly?

We take a consultative approach to upgrading your home’s electricity. When building your quote, we tailor everything to your current and future energy needs. Our goal is to create a system with exactly enough battery storage (and potentially solar panels) to maximize your savings and minimize your costs. Here are the factors we consider when sizing a system:

Consumption

We review a year’s worth of your power bills to see how much electricity you typically use. With this information, we can determine how much power from the grid your system needs to store and/or replace with renewable energy.

Battery Storage

Once we have a clear picture of your usage, we’ll examine time-of-use electricity rates in your area and determine how much battery storage you’ll need to maximize your savings.

Solar System Size

If you opt for a Torus Station 1R, we examine your home’s location and your roof’s orientation to determine how many solar panels are required to meet our renewable energy target.

Electrification

If you have taken steps to electrify your home (i.e. installing head pumps, induction stoves, etc.) or plan to, we understand that you need more electricity than most households and will size your system accordingly.

EV Ownership

If you already have an EV or plan to purchase one in the future, we understand that you need more electricity than most households and will size your system accordingly.

Future Needs

Throughout the process, we’ll discuss your energy goals to make sure your current usage accurately reflects what lies ahead. We can easily increase your solar and battery capacity to take into account future plans.
