  • Define product requirements for energy storage hardware, including flywheels, batteries, inverters, and control units.
  • Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams to oversee product design, prototyping, and performance validation.
  • Monitor industry certifications, compliance standards (UL, IEC, etc.), and manage lifecycle planning for physical components.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

Required Experience

  • 5–10+ years of experience in product management, systems engineering, or hardware development—preferably in energy storage, power systems, or related fields.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a strong technical background in mechanical and/or electrical engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with physical products, including working closely with design, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing teams.
  • Familiarity with role specific compliance standards such as UL, IEC, and NFPA, especially as they relate to energy products, safety, and grid integration.
  • Experience managing product lifecycle and cost targets, including BOM management, revision control, and manufacturing ramp-up.
  • Comfortable working across cross-functional teams, including R&D, operations, supply chain, and external vendors.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to translate technical constraints into product decisions and stakeholder tradeoffs.
  • Experience in fast-paced, iterative hardware environments, ideally in a startup or growth-stage company.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in energy storage, power systems, or related fields
  • Advanced Engineering degree
You’ll be a great fit if you have a passion for helping to solve complex climate challenges and are committed to finding new innovative ways to preserve and enhance our planet.
