About the Role

As Commercial Product Marketing Manager, ​​you are responsible for bridging the gap between product development, sales, and marketing to ensure commercial entities understand the value the Torus commercial product brings. This means understanding the technical nature, capabilities and various solutions of the Torus Commercial product. You are the expert on our products and its technical offerings for C&I and large scale electric utility. You're proficient at communicating our product value and are passionate about sharing and educating our product. You know electric utilities, the commercial buying cycle, the personas of Large Scale Utilities and Commercial and Industrial segments.  In this position, you will be charged with content creation, sales enablement, crafting thoughtful messages and product launches. You will work with Market Intelligence and Sales to define our Go To Market strategy, competitive analysis and campaign management.

Responsibilities

  • Go-to-Market Strategy: develop the product launch plan, outlining timelines and channels to reach the target market.
  • Post launch, monitor customer response and gather feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Crafting the Message: develop clear, concise messaging that highlights how the product solves specific pain points for businesses.  This involves understanding Torus’ target audience and differentiating the product from competitors.
  • Construct our Product Marketing arm from the ground up with a fresh set of eyes.
  • Content Creation: lead the creation of marketing materials like brochures, presentations, and website content tailored to commercial audiences.
  • Sales Enablement: create artifacts used to educate and distribute to the commercial sales team on the product's features and benefits, empowering them to effectively pitch to potential customers.
  • Product Evolution: This feedback might be used to suggest improvements for future iterations of the product, ensuring it stays relevant in the market.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and customer needs to ensure your marketing strategies are aligned.
  • Work closely with various departments like product development, sales, and marketing to ensure a cohesive approach.
  • Manage budgets and negotiate for resources to execute your marketing plans.

Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience (7-10+ years) in customer engagement, business development, or sales roles within the energy industry, particularly with non-residential customers and electric utilities.
  • Strong understanding of the utility industry, regulations, and decision-making processes.
  • A passion for clean energy and a commitment to driving the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing best practices, with a focus on commercial marketing strategies.
  • Ability to clearly communicate Torus’ value proposition both externally and internally
  • Understand and foster the customer relationship and drive sales to successfully translate clients’ needs into short- and long-term business strategies and initiatives. 
  • Broad communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably with people at all levels of an organization, from plant managers to equipment operators.
  • Strong understanding of energy management practices, including energy cost management, load profiles, energy optimization, and demand management.
  • Experience working with renewable energy technologies and their integration with utility grids.
  • Familiarity with relevant software tools for marketing automation, data analysis, and CRM
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects, program offerings, customers, deadlines, and demands. 
  • An understanding of the industrial project approval process as well as typical barriers to this process and techniques for working through these barriers. 
  • A strong grasp of project financial metrics and the use of these metrics to sell-in projects to key decision makers. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.

Working Conditions

This position is a remote role. You will conduct your work from your home office.
