About the Role

As the Director of Growth Strategy for the Commercial team, you are responsible for spearheading initiatives that fuel the growth of our energy utility partners and customers.  You will own market research to help identify new opportunities within the landscape of the intermountain west and beyond for customer acquisition and retention. You will be responsible for developing and identifying the right tool platforms, data and developing a comprehensive growth strategy aligned with the company’s goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify new opportunities for growth within the commercial, industrial, and utility sectors.
  • Analyze industry trends, customer behavior, and competitor landscape to develop a winning go-to-market strategy for our renewable energy solutions.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Product) to create a cohesive growth plan that aligns with the company's overall goals. 
  • Develop targeted marketing campaigns for decision-makers of target customers.
  • Craft compelling sales strategies and value propositions for energy storage and energy management products/services.
  • Contribute to the product roadmap by identifying features and functionalities that resonate with customers.
  • Oversee the implementation of the growth strategy, ensuring efficient resource allocation and budget management.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of growth initiatives and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
  • Develop clear and concise reports and presentations to communicate growth strategy progress to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends in renewable energy policy, regulations, and technology advancements within target markets.
  • Competitive Analysis:  conduct research to understand the competitive landscape and position the product advantageously.
  • Campaign Management: manage and track marketing campaigns to gauge their effectiveness and optimize them for better results.

Experience You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7-10+ years of experience in developing and executing growth strategies, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
  • Knowledge and experience working with utility incentive programs and understanding how to best leverage programs for maximum benefit.
  • Proven experience in strategy, operations, data and or business development within the energy or building industry, particularly with non-residential customers and electric utilities.
  • Proven track record of success in driving significant and sustainable growth in a competitive market.
  • Deep knowledge of marketing best practices, with a focus on commercial marketing strategies.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to inform strategic decisions.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively influence and build relationships with cross-functional teams.
  • A passion for clean energy and a commitment to driving the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
  • A self-motivated, results-oriented leader with a strong work ethic and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of the utility industry, regulations, and decision-making processes.
  • Ability to understand and foster internal relationships and support sales to successfully translate clients’ needs into short- and long-term business strategies and initiatives. 
  • Broad communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably with people at all levels of an organization, from facility owners, managers and building operators.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills. 
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects, program offerings, customers, deadlines, and demands.
  • Experience working with renewable energy technologies and their integration with utility grids.
  • A strong grasp of project financial metrics and the use of these metrics to sell-in projects to key decision makers. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including formal presentation skills before both small and large groups.

Working Conditions

This position is a remote role. You will conduct your work from your home office.
