By 2050, global energy demands are projected to double, driven by several transformative factors. To meet these increasing energy needs, it is crucial to expand clean energy generation at an unprecedented pace. Torus is helping to solve this problem by turning commercial buildings into Miniature Power Plants. Here’s a breakdown of how our approach works:

  1. We install a Torus system on the unused roof space of warehouses, office buildings, grocery stores, and other commercial buildings. 
  2. These systems create and store renewable energy using solar panels and our hybrid energy storage systems. 
  3. We connect these systems to the grid using our energy management software. With this software, utility operators can leverage Torus assets to meet demand, smooth frequency issues, and ease congestion, giving them sub-station level control.  
  4. Torus systems are manufactured domestically and built on a robust cybersecurity platform, ensuring that they don’t compromise the security of our national grid. 
  5. By turning commercial buildings into Mini Power Plants, we quickly enhance grid capacity and security, while reducing costs, outages, and emissions for homes, businesses, and communities.

Installing systems on commercial buildings is a Goldilocks solution. Unlike utility-sized generation and storage projects, which take years to complete, they can be installed in a matter of months. Unlike residential installations, they’re big enough to quickly make a difference. In fact, 20 commercial installations are roughly equal to a small power plant.
